Great hiking in the area and the old resort town of Elkmont is not to be missed. At an elevation of 2,150 feet, the area enjoys a moderate climate, characterized by mild winters and hot, humid summers. This is one of the big complaints on TripAdvisor so I thought I would keep mentioning it so people arent surprised when they get to the campground. Beautiful and serene. Nice ranger at check in.
